LumeLab Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 November 2026

In short

Your photos stay on your device. LumeLab opens them, edits them and saves them on your iPhone or iPad. There is no account, and your photos are never uploaded.

A small amount of diagnostic information does leave the device: crash reports, and a short list of events about what the app did. Never what your photos show. You can turn this off in Settings.

Your photos and edits

Photos, edits, presets and LUTs are kept on your device and in your Apple Photos library. We have no server to send them to, and your originals are never changed.

When you export or share a photo, it goes where you send it. That service's own policy applies.

Diagnostics

We use a crash-reporting and analytics service run by Google to learn when the app crashes or a file fails to open.

Crash reports contain the type of failure, where in the app it happened, the device model, the iOS version and the app version. Each also carries a random installation number, so repeat crashes can be grouped. That number is not your Apple Account, your name or your advertising identifier. Reports of moments when the app stopped responding carry the same details.

Events are the ones below, plus the counts of app opens and sessions that the service records on its own. The same random installation number groups them.

Event What it records
Export finished The format, the megapixel count, and whether it worked
File failed to open The file type, for example cr3
Presets imported How many, and whether they came from one file, several files or a folder
Preset profile missing The name of a camera profile a preset needs and you don't have
Memory released Which screen freed memory when iOS asked
Feature unavailable A feature this device couldn't provide
Pro offer shown Which feature you tapped when the offer opened
Purchase finished Which plan, and whether it went through, was cancelled, couldn't be confirmed or failed
Purchases restored Whether a restore found an earlier purchase

There are no file names, folder names, photo contents, locations, camera serial numbers or text you typed in any of them.

Purchases

LumeLab Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple handles the payment; we never see your card, your name or your Apple Account. The app checks your purchase with Apple on the device.

If you start a free trial, the app may ask to send you a notification two days before it ends. You can say no, or turn it off later in Settings.

What we don't do

Photo library access

LumeLab asks for access to your photo library to open the photos you choose and save the ones you export. You can change this at any time in Settings. With limited access, LumeLab only sees the photos you pick.

How long it's kept

Crash reports and events are kept by the diagnostics service for up to 14 months. Because none of it is linked to you, we can't find or delete one person's records.

Turning diagnostics off

In LumeLab, open Library, tap the gear, and turn off Send diagnostics. From then on nothing is sent, including the crash reports and session counts the service would otherwise gather. The app works the same either way.

Children

LumeLab is rated 4+. It has no features aimed at children and collects nothing that identifies anyone.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what we hold about you, to correct it or to delete it. Since nothing we collect is tied to you, there is usually nothing to return, but write to us and we'll answer.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too, and real changes are described in the release notes.
